powerpoint 2003 xp

I am having a problem with Powerpoint 2003 in XP environment. When we try to
open a powerpoint presentation done in win98 it doesn't open. The file
itself is 13,000 kb with graphics. This is a brand new pc.

What can I do to fix this?

Install Service Pack 1. This includes updates to PowerPoint 2003 that
are likely to fix the problem.

ppt2003 doesnt run or install under win98
if you are using the new viewer...neither does it
use the old viewer

my mistake i didn't read your question
the mvp is right, try sp1 for office 2003 and if you have norton it could be
the culprit
