Powerpoint 2004 audio loop fails

Operating System: Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger)
Processor: Intel

I'm having the same problem JosephMac reported last year. The audio file plays fine through the first loop and the repeat of the first slide but then stops. This doesn't happen when the presentation is run under Windows XP. The file is an mp3 file which was inserted into the first slide with Insert Audio from File.
