Powerpoint 2007 Macro: paste special, then reformat pasted shape

HD

I have an incredibly repetitive task that I have to do over and over again,
and I'd really like to record a Macro to do it. Of course, Macro recording
isn't available in PPT 2007; I have tried invoking 2003 to record the Macro,
but it just isn't working.

If someone could point me to a page which lists VBA code to invoke each menu
command, I could probably work out how to do this.

Or does anyone have the VBA code to do the following by any chance?

I select stuff from Excel, I then switch to Powerpoint and I carry out the
following tasks which I'd love to automate:

Paste>Paste Special>Microsoft Excel Workbook Object
RightMouse>Format Object (or I use the "size and position" icon that I have
put on my custom ribbon)>Position>Horizontal>2>Vertical>3>Size>Width>21

I then go back to Excel, copy something else, move to the next slide in
Powerpoint and off I go again.

Any helpw ould be very gratefully received.
Thanks
