PowerPoint 2007 Presenter Mode Problem

I am running PowerPoint 2007 Presenter Mode on a Lenovo Thinkpad X61T.

Presenter Mode functions as it should the exception being that current slide
does not show up in the left side window as it should.

My notes show up and the slide "ribbon" at the bottom of the window also
shows up.

Is there some setting that I am missing?
