Powerpoint 2007

I am trying to add text to a presentation whilst in slideshow mode in order
to take responses from the audience. I have seen this done with text boxes
that can be typed in. Any ideas how? The new layout of 2007 is not helping me.

These were all developed for 2003 so I don't know if any of them work in
2007, but I suspect at least some (and probably all) still work in 2007.
