PowerPoint 2008 QT movies end prematurely in presentation

I just converted from PowerPoint 2004 to PowerPoint 2008, and things are
generally ok *except* for this:

My QuickTime movies end prematurely when played... it's like PowerPoint
decides to edit the last 1 or 2 seconds of each movie and does not play it.
PowerPoint 2004 did not exhibit this phenomenon.

Any ideas? Your help is GREATLY appreciated... thanks in advance! Peace!

Try playing them through once or twice before you run them in front of
your audience. Mine does that too, and I notice it "seems" to be after
I have closed ppt and then opened it up again. Once I run them through
and leave the program open, it 'seems' to be fine. I only discovered
this work-around 2 days ago. Although this has worked in presenter
mode, I do not yet know how it works running through an LCD projector.
