Powerpoint and OHPs

I'm planning to go back to using an OHP, it's too much hassle lugging
a laptop and a projector around.

Ideally I like to print 2 OHPs on a single transparency, but I can't
find a way to do this in Powerpoint without a huge border around each
slide, despite editing the handout master.

Would I be better going back to Word?

Try printing the slides using the 'two-up' setting for the printer

You can't edit the slide size in the handout master.

You could use File|Send to|Word, choose 1 slide + lines and delete the lines
and size the thumbnails in Word.

Or you can use a third-party add-in such as http://skp.mvps.org/how/ or
