PowerPoint background

I am doing a very large PowerPoint show. It may contain upwards of 300
slides with one large photo and one small one on each slide with text (about
15 words).

My file size - half way through is 79,507 kb. I think the background I
have selected is a problem and I'm wondering if there are ways of reducing
the size? Its just a simple color background with blue and white.

I am going to be adding music and playing this, so I have to make sure the
file isn't too large to run properly.

Hi Sue,

If the end size of the presentation will be a consideration (usually), you
should start by reading the FAQ on presentation size.
**Why are my PowerPoint files so big? What can I do about it?

If the presentation is still large, try some basic compression techniques.
Use the built-in PowerPoint JPG compression tool. Try the PPTool's
Optimizer http://www.rdpslides.com/pptools/downloads.htm (look for the
Optimizer).

If the presentation is still very large and you don't know why, you may want
to try an add-in I am testing ON A COPY of the presentation. It will
identify where the filesize is used within the PPT file.

I like it.... certainly beats the "if a slide takes a long time to 1st
display while editing - there's something big on it" technique

Hi Sue. In this case, I think it's better to make a photo slideshow,
and export swf file.
