I've been trying to capture presentations in PowerPoint Presentation
broadcast using standard NTSC video cameras via a video-to-USB converter
(Adaptec AVC-2310) going into the presentation PC. I've found I can capture
from USB webcams, but PowerPoint will not accept the signal from the Adaptec,
though Adaptec's software displays the picture with no problems. After
several e-mails, Adaptec says this will not work; their converter will send
signals only to their DVD-burning software. It appears to me that the problem
is that Adaptec does not use Video for Windows or Windows Driver Model
compliant camera drivers, though I can't say for sure that is really the
issue.
Does anyone have any experience with doing this, and in particular can
anyone suggest another video-to-USB converter that might work with PowerPoint
