PowerPoint: Can't play/insert WMA, but can play/insert a MP3

T

Tom M

I have moved a PowerPoint file from an old computer to new computer. It has
embedded MP3 and WMA files. On the old computer everything was fine. On the
new computer the MP3 files play, but the WMA files do not within the
PowerPoint Presentation.
On the new computer, when I go to "Insert Sound from File", I can insert a
MP3, but not a WMA. I have WindowsMedia 9 installed on my new computer. The
WMA files play in both WindowsMedia9 and MusicMatch JUKEBOX.
This is very frustrating. Help.

Tom,

One more thought. You may have changed the file association when you
installed other software. Try right clicking on the wma file in explorer
and then select "Open With". Tell the PC to open with Windows Media Player
and then check the check box at the bottom of the window that says, "Always
use this program to open this type of file".
