"PowerPoint can't read ..." message when opening a file

I have edited a file from a computer running PowerPoint 2003 with Windows XP
Professional on a Macintosh computer running PowerPoint 2004 for Mac with Mac
OS 10.3.9. When I tried to open the edited file on the original computer, I
get the following message, "PowerPoint can't read path\file_name.ppt."
However, I have been able to open the file on computers running PowerPoint 97
and PowerPoint 2000. Any ideas?

Sorry, the previous post was by mistake. The log in seems to bring me back to
the latest thread...

I have already tried disabling the Office Plugin with no success. Do you
have any other ideas?

Thanks.

In PPT 2003, go to Help|Check for Updates and install the latest Service
Pack for Office 2003. SP-1 fixed a number of these "can't open files"
problems, and I'm 99% sure the latest, SP-2, also includes SP-1.
