powerpoint diagram to Visio 2003 with editing capabilites?

How can you translate a power point image to a Visio 2003 map and be able to
edit the image?

The short answer is that you can't. PowerPoint and Visio use different
drawing technologies and do not support conversion.

You may be able to paste the image into Visio as a metafile and then ungroup
the metafile. This will give you a bunch of entities that you can edit, but
these are the raw line vectors not the PowerPoint shapes.
