PROBLEM REPORT

Powerpoint version now in use: PowerPoint 2003 (11.810.8107) SP2

Version the file was created in or opened in since, if any:

Windows version:OS Name Microsoft Windows XP Professional
Version 5.1.2600 Service Pack 2 Build 2600

Description of problem: .jpg photos do not display in the normal view window
area. I can see them in the thumbnail
area on the left pane but they do not display in the normal view. Also, when
bringing up a blank or new presentation,
when selecting a slide layout, I notice that the dotted lines that normally
borders the title and text
(title and text slide format for example) boxes do not appear either so I
know immediately when a blank presentation
comes up that things aren't working properly. The graphics on the slide
master do not display either but again everything
looks fine in the thumbnail and slide show views.

When I do this: When in Slide Show view everything appears just fine.

Here's what happens (include text of any error messages that appear):

or

Here's what I expect to happen, but it doesn't: I expect to see the dotted
lines around the text and title boxes in a blank presentation and expect to
see the graphics
on my slide master and also expect to see photos, lines drawn, etc. in the
normal view. Images imported from EXCEL and AutoCAD LT 2006 (.wmf format)
seem to display fine in normal view.

Here's what I've already tried to solve the problem:updated Office 2003 to
latest rev and security updates.
