PowerPoint Embedded Icons

I inserted an object (Word file) into a PPT presentation and displayed it as
an Icon. I can't click on the Icon to open it when it is in Slide Show mode.
Is there any way to do this?

In edit mode, click on the icon to select it, right click on the icon, left
click on action settings, select the radio button for object action. Set it
to Edit or Open.
