powerpoint installation pproblem

whenever i try to run powerpoint installation, it
says "operating system is not presently configured to run
this application" can anyone help. Plz

What version of powerpoint are you trying to install (is it an upgrade?)?

What operating system do you have...eg. windows 98...windows me...windows xp
