Powerpoint is SLOW to load and CRASHES frequently on my new macbook

Hello - I've had my macbook for about 2 months now and I have problems
using office 2004 for mac.

My powerpoint presentations (which are usually pretty large: 150 MB)
quit unexpectedly a number times while editing them.
My powerpoint presentations take up to 10 minutes to load completely
(regardless of whether I'm loading them from my offices storage sever
[ie; via a network] or directly from the saved file on my computer).

I think these opening times are ridiculous as this was never a problem
on my old notebook (an old Toshiba that ran Office XP).

Please help me with these problems!

Do you have all the updates applied for bother your Operating System (OS)
and powerpoint ?

Yes - I have autoupdates set up so everything should be all good.
