Powerpoint Master Bullets Problem

K

Kyle

I'm using Powerpoint 2003 and trying to take an old presentation and re-brand
it with a new template. I have a saved template with a master containing the
format and bullet points that I want. So I select all slides in the old
presentation, copy, and paste into my new template. This was working for me
earlier with other presentations, but now using a different set of
presentations, the bullet points are not adhering to the master slide. They
are just staying the same as the old one.

Can someone help me figure out why the bullets won't change to the master
slide template? I have a lot of presentations in this format that I have to
re-brand to the new template.

I looked in the program files for Microsoft Office and didn't see it...but I
might be looking in the wrong place. All I know is that it does change
everything else to the correct or at least almost correct format, but not the
bullet points.

Try reapplying the slide layout after you paste it in. That's sometimes a
necessary step.

Okay, so I went ahead and opened up the template I want to use with the
correct master and saved it as a .pot file in the TEMPLATES folder. I then
went to the presentation that I want to re-brand, right-clicked and hit
design layout, then selected my .pot file from the browse menu. It applied
the color scheme and general layout that I want but again, it did not affect
the old bullet points.

I resolved the issue with the help of an in-house expert. In case anyone is
having the same problem, what I had to do was after I applied the template, I
had to re-apply the layout for individual slides or groups of slides that had
the same format.

Yeah. I posted that suggestion yesterday. You must not have seen it. Glad to
know you got it worked out.
