PowerPoint Movies won't play animations

I am using Microsoft Office 2001 on a Mac with OS9.1 I have inserted .avi
movies and animated gifs into my presentation. The slide show works fine,
but when I use the "Make a Movie" command and play the quicktime (version
6.0.3) movie the animated gifs don't animate and the avi movie just flashes
on the screen and it jumps to the next slide even though I have given it 5
seconds to play. Then when I export that movie.mov to an .avi (so it will
play on windows) the movie skips the slides with the avi movies imbedded.

What am I doing wrong and does anyone have any suggestios? TIA

Saving as Movie does not save all animations properly nor does it
adhere to specific timings. Most shape animations map to fly from
left, for example. Inserted movies should still play "movie within
movie," so the "flashing" thing shouldn't happen. If you create a new
presentation, insert a movie, then save that as movie, does the same
thing happen?

Hi Buck,

Yes, it does. I inserted another movie and that one plays fine in the
..mov file, so I believe that it is a setting in the original .avi file
that is at fault here.

The other problem is that animated gifs won't play in the movie. Is
there a solution to that?

TIA.

Bob
