Powerpoint object inserted in a project is not saved with the proj

I opened a master project from the server. Inserted a Powerpoint presentation
into it. Saved the project to the server and closed the project. Reopened the
project and ... no powerpoint ! Most disconcerting. Any suggestions welcome.
