Powerpoint on Frontpage

B

Beth

I am attempting to put a powerpoint presentation onto my
website. I'm assuming that not everyone who goes to our
website will have powerpoint installed on their machine.
How can I get the presentation on there so EVERYONE can
see it?
Thanks, Beth

Export from PPT as HTML. Then upload the whole enchilada and link to the
start page.

It's a big enchilada, though! 8)

I've this and it seems to sorta work ok...

Beth;

When you export the html from Powerpoint, export it to one folder outside of
FP first. Then Import that Folder into FP.

LOL...

Yep - it's not a bad way to communicate this, but it's a terrible way to
make a webpage! 8)

oh brother is it ever!

I'd never done it until we were yakking about it here a few weeks ago. It
works...not too bad either...but huge!

Actually, someone had sent me a "sketch" of how they wanted their website
designed...nav buttons and everything, in Powerpoint. Of course what I ended
up designing looked NOTHING like the Powerpoint stuff..but it was a good
exercise.

The biggest problem I've had doing the same thing is getting the page layout in PPT to be the same width as is seen on the website. I set everything up for 800X600, but how that translates to inches for the PPT page is beyond me. I've had to play around and just guess. If anyone knows how to convert 800 pixels to inches, I'd certainly be interested. Nonetheless, I think doing your site in PPT and exporting only the background is nice. Then do all the buttons, text, pics, etc. in FP. Then it's not so big, either.

On a 1024 screen, 800 pixels is approximately 8/10 the width of the screen's
display.
On an 800 screen, 800 pixels is approximately the width of the screen's
display.

In other words, there is no answer.

with the export to html you won't get the page transistion animations I don't
think - or if it converts these to dynamic html - that is supported by IE 5.0 and
up only I think
