PowerPoint opens in Greek

Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) Processor: Intel Whenever I open PowerPoint, the slides come up in Greek. Even when I add text, the words are in Greek. Also whenever I open an old PowerPoint presentation, it, too, opens in Greek.

Since you haven't indicated your Office & OS X update levels that's the
first thing to confirm. Office should be at 12.2.4, 10.6.3 for OS X. It
wouldn't hurt to repair disk permissions, shut down your Mac & wait a minute
or two before starting it up. It sounds like a font issue which might be
fixed by the restart -- that enables the font caches to be cleared &
rebuilt. If the problem continues...

Quit all programs then launch Apple's Font Book app. Run the Validate Fonts
& the Resolve Duplicates routines. Should that still not rectify the problem
reply with details describing any changes as well as identifying the fonts
used in the files. See what happens if you select text & change the font to
something mainstream, such as Calibri, Arial or Lucida Grande.

No problem -- thanks for posting the confirmation... If you'd be kind enough
to reply with some details as to exactly what it was & specify what
corrected it I'm sure it would be helpful to others.
