powerpoint photo frame

I would like to be able to take a picture and make it semi-transparent. then
give it a border that fades away so the outer line of the picture is not so
harsh. I seem to remember doing this before using powerpoint and a certain
type of frame but I cannot find it now.

Place the the picture you want in a specific directory

Select Auto shapes
Basic shapes
Bevel (the one that looks like one box in another)
Draw the shape on your slide
Double click the shape
Select fill color
Fill effects
Picture tab
Select picture
go to the directory your picture is located and select it.
Have fun manipulating the various settings to get the effect just right
(aspect ratio, transperency, border etc.)
