Powerpoint Print Problem

D

dr

I am currently running
PowerPoint 2000
OS - Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional
Version 5.0.2195 SP3
IBM T30

Here is the problem -
If I print from PowerPoint the first print is okay.
If I print another page I get a physical dump and my
system reboots - even if I close PowerPoint down and go
back in to print I get a physical dump.

In order to print a second time I have to close PowerPoint
down, go to a different application, print, then go back
to PowerPoint and print.

I have tried three different printers and three different
presentations (large, medium, small)

This does not happen on any other application. PowerPoint
is the only opened application.

Have any idea where I go from here.

It is frustrating

The network printers are Lexmark Optra S 1625 and Lexmark
T620 non-PS.

It is a new machine and I am not having problems with any
other application. Even a net stop/start on the spooler
does not stop the physical dump.

I do not feel it is a memory problem my presentation
currently has two pages - one with the word 'hello' and
the second pages has the word 'goodbye'.

I think PowerPoint is holding on to the spooler some how.
I can now print one page, close PowerPoint and open it to
print again.

I am now laboriously changing one setting at a time in
PowerPoint to see if this makes a difference. So far no
luck.

Thanks for the input.

This sounds like it'd be incredibly frustrating.

What printer is this and is it a PostScript or non-PS printer?

Have you checked for an updated printer driver from the manufacturer and
updated video card drivers from ibm.com

Even if no printer updates are available, consider uninstalling then
reinstalling the printer driver.

Is it a network printer or one that's physically attached to the PC?

For anyone who might run into this problem. I reinstalled
my print drivers and PowerPoint is now working. Go
