PP07 Does Not Print All of Brochure

Issue: PowerPoint 2007 will not print all of brochure (font/back &
text/images) for last three months. Sometimes it will print part of both.
Worked fine for 2 years, now it doesn't. Seems to have an issue with higher
end graphics/text formats that are part of PowerPoint 2007, shadows, and some
imported graphics/images. Tried to remake whole brochure and did not matter.
Size of file is not an issue when printing. Larger files without shadows,
etc. will print.

Not a printer problem or driver problem. Reinstalled print driver. Main
copier/printer checked by printer guy and it is fine. Brochures use to print
fine to ALL color/bw printers and now does not.

According to IT guys, not a computer/network/virus protection issue.

Checking High Quality box does not matter. I use to check High Quality in
order to get it to print shadows, but no longer seems to matter.

Using: Win XP Pro w/SP3 (work computer), regular MS Office updates w/SP2 and
Symantec AntiVirus, regular updates from State agency

By the way, if I copy and paste entire brochure into MS Publisher, it will
print, but quality is poor. Can also print as pdf, but pdf will cause the
whole image to print further in from the edges and cannot fold brochure
correctly and looks bad.

What changed? Service packs, windows/office updates? Did this start after
you
upgraded to 2007 from an earlier version or did it work ok previously in 2007?

Computer purchased Oct. 2007 and came with Office 2007. Don't know when SPs
installed.

Several XP Pro security updates June-Sept. 2009. No MS Office updates
around that time.

But if the original printer driver and PPT don't get along well, reinstalling it
would just give you a nice fresh copy of a driver that won't work with PPT.
Have you checked the printer driver's site to see if they have updated drivers?
Also, is the driver locally installed (even if the printer itself is on a
network)? That's one sure fix for certain PPT/printing problems.

Dirvers up-to-date. Also tried old drivers just to see. Still prints wrong
on 3 different computers. IT said all drivers were installed locally.

Experiment with the various page scaling options in the print dialog when you
print from PDF. One ("None" I'm guessing) should get you going, at least as a
workaround.

Will try scalling in pdf. Thanks. There are work arounds, like remaking
whole brochure in MS Publisher, but I am just trying to figure out why
PowerPoint all of a sudden stopped printing correctly after working fine for
two years.

Did the round-tripping, saved as .mht per site, but did not work. Also tried
..html. TIFF will work, but text looks really bad when printed.

Print preview always looks fine though with all.

Ran MS office diagnostics. No luck.

Will try disk defrag. Affraid of system restore though. Too much saved on
computer since that time.

Making brochures in ppt is a good choice as everyone at work has it already
on their computer and can print these when I'm not in. I'll have to remake
in Publisher for now. Not everyonehas that though.

I'll keep at it. It's got to be something with ppt07.

By the way, I just printed as pdf and chose NONE on the Print scaling instead
of Fit to Printable Area and the scalling is now good. Folds correctly.
Text looks better than other choices so far. This will be my avenue for
brochures that don't print properly in ppt. I guess ppt wasn't really meant
for printing anyway.
