powerpoint question

I am trying to create a powerpoint presentation. Everytime I try to type in
the slide, it changes to another slide. How do I stop this?

It is very annoying!

Sounds like maybe you are typing in outlining view, whereby something as
simple as pressing <Enter> could take you to the title of a new slide. Once
you press <Enter>, then click the Demote button on your toolbar to tell
PowerPoint that you really want that line of type to become a bullet under
the title (demoted).

Sounds like your in the slideshow mode. Press Esc to put you back in to the
edit mode.
