Powerpoint repeatedly crashing

Operating System: Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger)
Processor: Intel

I hope you can help.

I have recently installed office for mac 2008. I have been using all the applications without concern. For the past 2 days however, powerpoint has been crashing repeatedly at startup. The other MS apps seem ok.

I have tried the following with no luck -
Switched off the fontbook
Repaired disk permissions
Deleted the prefs.plist file

I still have MS PPT 2004 installed and it is working stably (I work at a university and they will only support 2004 just now). However I like 2008 and wish it would work again!

I enclose the error report below. I hope you can help.
Best wishes
John
