powerpoint slide show

Lori

I am trying to hyperlink a powerpoint slideshow to a photo in my photo
gallery on my web page designed using Publisher. Can someone give me the
steps to do this (in simple terms)? This is my first time making a webpage
and have done okay except for getting photos up in the photo gallery.

create a hyperllink from the photo to the pps file which you also have to
upload.
keep in mind the viewer will need PowerPoint to view the slideshow.

Thanks. I have been trying to upload the pps file but it isn't working. Do
you have a suggestion for a better/easier way to create a slideshow so that
it can be viewed by anyone?

JAlbum is very good...and free. Not sure how'd you'd intergrate it with a
Publisher generated website though - probably put it in a folder of it's own
then link to the first index page JAlbum creates within that folder.

the slideshow.

If you had a html editor (Publisher is not one) you would just edit the last
JAlbum's html to include a link back to whatever page you wanted.

Lori,

One solution is to open your JAlbum in a new browser window. Then when the
viewer is finished they can close that window and your website will still be
in another window. See and read the thread TAG Open in a new Window and/or
tab by Paulo on the 26th for a discussion about building links that open in
a new window. Get the basics of this approach down, and you can add and
remove attributes to the browser window to contain your slide show. You can
create custom sized windows, etc that will make your albums look more
custom. Good luck.

PowerPoint files have an extension of .pps change it to .ppt

One needs the PowerPoint viewer program to see the files.

You could also put a note on your website that you can get PowerPoint viewer
program at

You can navigate back to your site by using the Chameleion skin. Click the
setting button and then select the Chameleon tab at the top and then navigate
to Album info and fill in the information for you site in the Custom link 1
and uncheck open in new window. When you view the album you loaded into
whatever folder at the bottom will be a link back to your site.
