PowerPoint Slides advance without keystroke

P

Patrick Weeks

On a couple of occasions, we have notices powerpoint
presentations that will advance a slide without pressing a
key. It always seems to occur when a powerpoint has been
brought from another machine onto a different one. The
presentation settings have not been applied so there is no
programmatic setting to for the slides to continue. It is
intermittent. Our theory was that there is an
incompatibility between different Service Packs of
Powerpoint. Anyone have this experience?

Patrick,

Are the problems on a laptop perhaps?

I've noticed this with laptops that have "touch pads"....Plug in a mouse and
disable the touch pad normally fixes it.

Have you checked the slide transition settings when this occurs? I don't
recall hearing of such a conflict between versions, but then you didn't tell
us what version or versions and Service Packs of PowerPoint are involved.
