powerpoint & the screensaver

I'm pretty sure there was a way of making sure the screen saver doesn't kick
in when you're running a ppt.. question is...
1) where is the CIW is that?
2) where can i also make the modification once powerpoint is already
installed?

thanks
ps..not clear on where this question should go..so i'm also posting it in
the office setup section

Right click your Desktop and select Properties. Click on the Screen Saver tab
and set the screen saver to "None". That will do it.

Thanks for the information Sonia... but i'm not looking disable the OS
screensaver for everything.. just want it disabled while i'm in a Powerpoint
presentation (and i dont want to manually have to do this each time). Isn't
there anything more "powerpoint" specific i can do?

Sam,

In my experience PowerPoint will override any screensaver settings and
stay on. However, on notebooks with power saving settings enabled, the
computer itself may go to sleep. The only way I know is to disable any
power saving settings while presenting, and use the AC adapter for
power. What also may be happening is that if there are security
settings for a screen saver to kick in after a set time of no mouse or
keyboard activity, then PowerPoint cannot override these. You will
have to change that setting, or get the system administrator to do so.
I was thinking that perhaps some sort of VBA routine or macro to
"wiggle" the mouse in the background every 10 minutes or so might
help, after being bitten by this on a show, but the show was over
before I got too far in research. Perhaps some of the experts here
might have any ideas.

Regards,
