Powerpoint won't go full screen

I have a problem with a machine running Windows 2000 Pro and Powerpoint
2000 SR-1. When viewing a presentation in slide show mode, the
Powerpoint window will only take up the left 3/4 of the screen. The
window is maximized, but Powerpoint will take up only 3/4 of the screen
and it's all the way to the left. The right 1/4 of the screen is just
the desktop.

Any clues about this problem?

I should clarify here...

When viewing the slide show presentation, the slides go full screen
just like normal (all borders, menu bars, etc., disappear). However,
the slide only takes up the left 3/4 of the screen. The right 1/4 of
the screen looks like the regular powerpoint software (scroll bar,
minimize, maximize, and close buttons).

Every other application can go full screen without problems so this
doesn't appear to be a video card/driver issue, unless Powerpoint uses
some other driver...

Two things:

1. Update your video card driver. (Yes PPT really pushes them unlike any
other app.)

2. Update your version of DirectX.
