Powerpoint XP to Powerpoint Office X compatibility issues-- PLEASE PLEASE HELP!!!!

Hi!!

I am trying to find any additonal add-ons or software, microsoft or
third-party, that can close the gap in compatibility between office xp
and office x for mac. i have created an xp file with some effects and
transitions that are not transferring to mac office x as i do not
believe mac has those capabilities yet in their programming. is there
anything i can do for this? the effects in particular are the text
effects that act like flash files; spinning and twisting, etc. i am
trying to crerate a business plan and i have no access to a pc so
anyone who can help..i would be so incredibly thankful!!!!

As far as I know, the only way to ensure true compatibility is to not use
animations on the PC. However, there is a workaround you can use that's
described on the PowerPoint FAQ.

There's no way to have PowerPoint render the new animations in XP because
the Mac versions don't use the same engine for animations. If you would
like the Mac version to support these, send a suggestion to Microsoft.

Does this mean that if I create a ppt document in Windows XP that I
will be able to view it on my Mac with OSX and ppt X? Right now I
have OS9.2 and Office 98 on my Mac but will upgrade if this will allow
me to view a very important document that I created using my PC with
OS XP and Office XP. Thanks for any help you can give me! Jodi

Yes, PowerPoint XP and PowerPoint X have the same file format so the files
are interchangeable. However, with presentations created in new versions
taking advantage of newer features, those may appear unpredictably or not at
all in older versions.

You actually should be able to view presentations created in PowerPoint XP
in PowerPoint 98 for Mac. Did you try going to File -> Open and selecting
the file? Perhaps if you give us more detail on the problem we can help.
