powerpoint2002 crashes

When I want to open in powerpoint 2002 a file created with
powerpoint 2000, the system blocks itself and I have to
use the task manager to stop the application. Powerpoint
2002 seems to be able to show my slides but I am not
authorized to modify them.
Any idea is welcome.

You mean when you go to the task manager, you see PPT "not responding"?

I don't quite understand this, Ide. Can you please clarify? If you have
to use Task Manager to exit PPT, then how is it showing the slides?
