PowerrPoint 2007

I downloaded a trial version of PowerPoint 2007 and cannot get it to install.
Gives me the message "The installation of this package failed." Anyone help?

Does it give an error code associated with the failure? That could prove
immensely helpful in figuring out the reason for failure.
