PP 2002 -- Custom Animation

I teach in a classroom of 20 computers. When I click on
Slide Show, custom animation, I get a menu like the one
from PP 2000. The students get a task pane.

How can I change the way my computer does custom animation?

Click Tools --> Options and make sure that there is no check mark next to
"New animation effects".

Next go to View and click on Task Pane.

Go to Tools > Options > Edit and uncheck the three items at the bottom of
the dialog. It sounds like you have disabled them, which makes PowerPoint
2002 behave as if you were running PowerPoint 2000.
