PP resets monitor resolution

Using Office 2003 on an XP-Pro machine. We are also using Song Show Plus on
the same machine.

When we open Song Show to display the lyrics for our songs, and then open
Power Point to display a slide show, we are unable to return to Song Show
Plus and display again.

After much troubleshooting, we found that every time we open Power Point, it
resets our monitor color display settings to 8 bit resolution. The original
setting of 32 bit display gets overridden every time and, therefore, seems
to be the root cause of our display issues.

We have the latest updates to everything including the latest driver for our
video card.

Any ideas????
