PP viewer does not start

Hi

PowerPoint viewer 2007 on Windows XP does not start.
The hourglass appears for one second, when I try to start it. That's it.
Opening taskmanager shows me, that the application does not run at all.
I uninstalled PP viewer, re-installed it, and I installed the latest
microsoft updates.
No effect.

Office 2003 Basic edition on the same computer works fine.
