PP2002 SP3 cannot open

I am receiving e-mail attachments which have .pps extensions. I have PP2002
SP3 but I cannot open these files. . . . . why??

Have you tried saving the attachments to your computers hard drive (c:) first?

Then starting powerpoint
then opening the file using
File
Open
