The automatic connectors that attempt to connect a line being drawn to nearby
objects on the screen make it extremely difficult to draw simple straight
lines or lines at particular angles if there is ANY other object nearby, even
the text placeholder. Lines usually have to be drawn in empty areas around
the borders or on a temporary, empty slide in order to get the desired size
and angle, then copied and pasted where they should be.
