PP2007 Has Serious Error on Every Close

Everytime I use PP 2007, it reports a serious error when I close it.
The faulting application is powerpnt.exe, and the faulting module is
ppcore.dll. What is causing this error?

Have you tried Office Button | PowerPoint Options | Resources and running
the diagnostics there? I'd give that a shot.

I tried it and the computer crashed mid-way through the last test. I
then re-ran it in Safe Mode and all 5 tests passed. I have turned on
the Download a file periodically in the privacy options, and will wait
a few days to re-run the diagnostics.

As a follow-up to my post, I found two instances of PowerPoint 2003
Viewer on my computer, and PowerPoint 97 was still installed. I
removed all three and re-ran the diagnostics. This time it made it
all the way through and performed a repair. Don't know what it did,
but I will watch it now to see if the crashing disappears.
