pp2007 placeholder question

I am trying to create placeholders for 1) subtitles on most layouts and
2) custom placed axis titles on graph layouts.

Issue is that it seems not to matter whether I use content placeholder
or text placeholder when I go to apply the layout to a ppt I am updating
these 2 placeholders add bullets to the line of type.

Is there any way to prevent this from happening?

thanks

Hi Saskabush

Insert a content placeholder (which automatically comes in with bullets as
you say), then remove the bullets using Home tab -> Bullets drop down ->
None. That works for me - does it not for you?

Lucy: I think that I have it sorted out, not through any blinding flash
of genius, rather just keep bashing enough and somehow it seems to be
doing what I want now.

Now if I could just get the proper content to go in the proper
placeholder when I migrate my ppts from 03 to 07

thanks for your response, I have been somewhat frustrated with 07 of late.

Glad it's working now. Keep on coming back with your frustrations and we'll
try our best to relieve them :)

This one frustrates me, and I don't have a good answer for it.

I created a "reference" placeholder on my bulleted slide layout. When I port
from 2003 to 2007 and reset the layout, the text goes from the bulleted text
placeholder (the typical regular main placeholder) to the reference
placeholder! I have to copy it back into place.

Hm. Having a brain spasm here...you know, maybe I (we?) just need to add a
step. Apply a layout that has the same number of placeholders as the old
slide. Then apply the new layout.

Quick test here. Yeah, I still have to paste the refs text into the refs
placeholder, but I expected that. At least applying the regular title +
bulleted text layout seems to tell the main text that it is main text and it
belongs in the main placeholder and doesn't jump to the other placeholder.

Hope that helps a little. I know it helped me!
