I use Publisher 2000 and now have difficulty inserting images from file into
'picture box'. I didn't have this problem prior to installing SR2, but I am
only make a loose association here. I edit my images in Photoshop them save
them to desktop for insertion into Publisher document.
I cannot access these images because of the limited file type choices I am
offered in the 'Insert Picture' window. Choices given are Gif, JPEG, Kodak
Picture CD, PC Paintbrush (what the heck is that?), PNG and Windows Bitmap.
I have saved image second time as bitmap and was able to insert it into
publication, but resolution when was poor. (I am accustomed to Photoshop
quality and resolution.)
Thank you for your help.

You don't have the choice: "All Picture Formats" in the drop down selection?

What format are the pictures?

PC Paintbrush is Paint, the application that is installed with Windows.

No, that's BMP.
PC Paintbrush was a different application. I'm not that well-up on my
bitmap-file history, but I think it was an OS/2 file format.

Dear Mary,
The images are in PSD format and this is a recent development. I
previously was able to insert saved images not matter the format. I do not
receive any error messages, just limited format choices. Size of picture has
not been an issue in the past.
Thanks for responding.

when you have a .psd in photoshop, do a save as or save a copy if the "save
as" doesn't allow the tif format. make your picture box, right click, get
picture, from file, when the dialog box comes up, choose all picture
formats as file of type... the tif should show there.

PSD is definitely PhotoShop. Can you convert the image to another extension?
www.irfanview.com will open PSD files. If you decide to download it (free program)
get the plug ins as well.
PSD is not among the listed filters for Office, are you certain you just didn't paste
special into Publisher earlier?
