PPT 2007: How to ungroup embedded OLE drawing object

D

Dave Jenkins

I can't seem to find a way to do this that was as easy as in 2003. The onnly
way I've found to do it is to save the drawing as a .wmf, then re-insert it
into the slide, and then I can right-click it and ungroup the elements.

In 2007, the shape marker for these objects is some new double-line
indication that I've not seen before - what does that mean? For those
graphics objects whose placeholder is the single line with handles, the
right-click/ungroup protocol seems to work directly.

Is there an easier way to ungroup the "new" kinds of objects?

Thanks!

But you can select the object, Copy the on the Home tab, Paste, Special,
as EMF
(instead of having to go into the export/import business.)

And Paste Special now has a shortcut: Ctrl+Alt+V

Thanks, Steve. Works like a champ.

Last question: What does the new placeholder indicator (double-line with
dots) indicate?

Good luck with the lightning recovery. Where's your UPS and surge surpressor?

Thanks, Echo. The only problem with using that key combination will be in
remembering it.
