PPT 2007 Printing slide with shape shadow

Print preview or printing a slide with shapes and shadows results in the
shapes only being visible, regardless of whether color / grayscale / B&W are
selected. I have also tried the 'PPT Options=>Advanced=>Print=>High Quality'
option without success...

The slide also appears incorrect (no shadows) in the left pane, Slides tab
of the Normal View.

Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
