PPT can't open hyperlink to ..

just got a new laptop and loaded m/office '00. tried to
run ppt presentation but received error message
that "powerpoint could not open hyperlink to." i presume
this means that ppt could not "find" the next slide. did
not have this problem on previous computer. any thoughts?
