.ppt files don't have .ppt logo and open in open office

Office XP (2002)

PPT can open these files when told to, but ignores instruction to always
open files of this type with PPT. Instead, Open Office Display opens them.

They have the generic Windows logo rather than a presentation program logo.

This is after doing a Repair and a Reinstall on PPT.

Please help. Thank you.
