Sorry but no. The Windows Media Player has (almost) nothing to do with
PowerPoint. Please read the tutorial again.

That is a copyrighted work and you need the copyright holders permission to
use it.

I thought there were free downlaods some where you can add to PPT? If I add
the clip music it is attached to just one slide. Can I have it or a CD run
during the whole presentation?

Yes, but Jerry Lee Lewis's "Great Balls of Fire" isn't one of them.

Not legally, and I sure won't help break the law in this matter. Sorry...

The download may be free but copyrights for usage still apply. Sometimes,
however, if the music is not being used for commercial purposes you can use
the music...

Anyway, the music needs to be ripped and converted to a
PowerPoint-compatible file. From PPTools.com here are audio formats that
work:
•Audio Interchange File Format (*.aiff, *.aif, *.aifc)
•Motion Pictures Expert Group Layer-3 (*.mp3, *.m3u) (Note: May only be
inserted with PowerPoint 2000 but may be played back with PowerPoint 97 or
the 32-bit PowerPoint Viewer.)
•Musical Instrument Digital Interface (*.midi, *.mid, *.rmi)
•Unix Environment (*.au, *.snd)
•Microsoft Wave (*.wav)
•Microsoft Streaming Format (*.asf, *.asx)
•CDAudio (*.cda)

Once you get it into a desired format...you can insert it into your
presentation by going to Insert > Sound from File. To play accross multiple
slides, see this:

"Play sounds across multiple slides (A WAV runs through it)"
