ppt presentation running for 6 hours a day with lynks

I have a ppt presentation the runs 6 hours a day. Needs to be updated
everytime one of my coworkers enter new data in a excel sheet. It works ok
ata the beginning but then the lynks don't updated anymore. I need to close
the ppt file and opened again. Need to know if there is anyway to avoid that
step. Thank you

Make sure that the excel workbook is set to open in shared mode rather than
exclusive else PowerPoint will have problems updating the content.
