How do I draw a 1/2 circle in PPT (WinXP)?

Russ,
Use the AutoShape Arc, it's in the basic shapes category.
Press Shift and hold, click and drag with the mouse to create a quarter
circle. Adjust the size at will. Let go of the mouse and then the shift key.
Now there are two diamond shaped adjustment shapes, drag them to get a
perfect demi-circle. To get it completely right you can draw a line next to
the circle or use the guide lines.

Or use the Oval tool on the drawing toolbar.
Hold SHIFT while you click and drag to add an oval to your slide. Holding
SHIFT constrains it to a perfect circle. Don't worry about the exact size yet.

Once you have a circle, doubleclick it to get the formatting dialog, click the
SIZE tab and manually enter .5" for width and height.

Eh? That just makes a really small (1/2-inch) circle.

I thought you were going to say to cover half with a background-filled
autoshape.
