PPT2003, How do I convert handout pages PRN files to PDF?

I have been trying to create PDF's from handout pages in PPT 2003. I've
tried doing the handouts in PPT, printing to file and changing to PDF from
there, and tried just taking the files right into Adobe to try and do it
there. No matter what I try, I get a syntax error, and the PDF conversion
stops right away. Regular slides work fine. It's just the handouts pages.
Any thoughts?
