Greetings:
My company has been pilot testing Project Server 2003
since mid Feb. We are taking the learning and preparing to
do a full implementation (within 50 person IS dept) in
late May and June.
At this time, we are planning on a phased implementation.
I feel that we are ready to implement the basic features
of the tool for time tracking, basic project planning and
visibility and basic resource management.
I feel we are not yet ready to fully implement other
functionality such as the various analysis and modeling
functions, project workspace features (SharePoint),
advanced resource management, and dashboard metrics.
QUESTION/ADVICE: My plan is to clean/purge the database of
all project data prior to going live. We would bring all
project plans up to date offline, then import them. Going
forward, all new project plans would be developed within
Project Server/Project Pro 2003. The question I have, or
advice I am seeking: Does anyone have experience or any
best practices for pre-implementation planning that you
would recommend to an organization like ours that is
coming off of a pilot and getting ready to "go live?"
Thanks,
S Belling
